BACK IN TIME: Italia – PT. 1

August 12, 2018 by jlmadamba

I had previously done a lot of traveling in 2017, but it wasn’t until earlier this year that I decided (on a whim) to create an outlet for myself where I would share my travels and eats. I debated on whether I wanted to retroactively blog about those past experiences and for a while, I decided not to…but rather start fresh and focus on what I had going on in the present. As I look into my iPhone’s camera roll, […]

TRES CERDOS

August 3, 2018 by jlmadamba

Have you ever received a text from someone, mentally responded, then put your phone down and realized – shoot…I didn’t actually respond? That my friends, is how you fall behind on your blog posts and I am so, so, sorry! But let’s keep moving so you all can see what I’ve been up to. One of the coolest parts about living in the Bay Area is that you can get just about any sort of food, anywhere. For the cities […]

Did you bring lunch today?

May 12, 2018 by jlmadamba

My co-worker/work-wife and I go out to eat for lunch during the week way more often than we should…but I never regret it. In fact, sometimes the happiest part of my work day is when we both look at each other and non-verbally agree that we’re both hungry and whatever we brought for lunch that day is probably not as appealing as what we could be eating in the outside world. So today, I’m going to share with you one […]

FANCY TOAST OVER CHIPS

May 5, 2018 by jlmadamba

For almost 4 years, I’ve worked in an office in Burlingame on the weekends. For those who aren’t familiar, Burlingame is a town located on the Peninsula, about 16 miles or so from San Francisco. Apparently, it’s referred to as the “City of Trees” – which makes me chuckle because 1) I literally just found that out in a quick Google search and 2) when I think of a place called the “City of Trees”, there’s a handful of other […]

4 Hour Donuts

April 28, 2018 by jlmadamba

About a week ago, I found myself doing the usual mid-day Instagram scroll-through. I came across a friend’s “story” and these circular, dipped pastries caught my attention. I immediately passed my phone over to my co-worker/work wife to have her take a look and we were instantly intrigued. Were these Hong Kong-style egg puffs? Were they cookies? What is it dipped in? Why do they look like baby-teethers? Within minutes, she had discovered that these were mochi donuts, made by MoDo […]

Hello, world.

April 25, 2018 by jlmadamba

Good afternoon, curious onlookers! My name is Jamie, a twenty-something year-old living in the Bay Area, CA. In an attempt to branch out my interests, I have decided to set-up a platform (a…blog) in which I can share my personal experiences with some of the things I love doing the most: traveling, eating, and being a novice photographer. A few close friends of mine thought this would be a good idea for me and you know…I really dig it. I […]
